David "Hos" Hostetter - Co-Founder

Hostetter is a seasoned technology executive and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience building high functioning technology teams, conceiving, deploying and scaling cloud based enterprise data platforms. From bootstrapped start-ups to 11 years in multiple leadership roles at Microsoft, Hostetter is the rare executive who instinctively understands how to craft and position early stage ventures to appeal to large enterprise customers by establishing the technical and execution credibility that accelerates revenue growth and exit opportunities.

 

Prior to co-founding droneCOMPLY, Hostetter was CTO at Hipcricket Inc. (now part of Upland Software - Cloud Based Software Services) where he was responsible for systems and teams that served over 1B ad serving transactions per day via cutting edge data management, analytic tools and cloud based software architecture.

 

Before Hipcricket, Hostetter was a senior executive at Fabric Worldwide, a WPP funded Technology Company that productizes and packages big data into meaningful, ROI driven marketer solutions. At Fabric, Hostetter hired and managed a globally distributed team that built optimization and data tools for marketers, to deliver a unified view of their digital campaigns across various channels.

 

Hostetter has spent his career at the forefront of big data, digital media, and machine scalability at various companies including Loudeye (acquired by Nokia) where he was the CTO and Executive Vice President, MOD Systems as the Vice President of Engineering, YORPPL where he was CEO, Competency Culture Consulting where he is a Partner, Litton Laser Systems (acquired by Northrup Grumman), where he was an Industrial Engineer, and over 11 years at Microsoft.
 

David holds multiple patents and has continually initiated and driven IP creation and patent securitization throughout his professional career.  Last but not least, Hostetter is an aviation enthusiast and has been a licensed private pilot since the 1980s.

Alan Sultan - Co-Founder

Sultan is a high-energy, technology entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience leveraging emerging technologies to create innovative data driven businesses. Prior to founding droneCOMPLY, Sultan was with mobile marketing leader Hipcricket, Inc. as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Chief Strategy Officer.

 

Before Hipcricket, Sultan was co-founder and president of Acuity Mobile (2006), where he developed patented, industry-first methodologies and partnerships that brought data and applied analytics to the mobile ecosystem.  Utilizing a classic “Crossing the Chasm” strategy, Sultan focused initially on a core vertical (Casino/Gaming/Hospitality) and establishing key channel partners to access this market --- which resulted in 76% market share 18 months after venture inception.

 

Among other responsibilities, Sultan established and oversaw major partnerships and client engagements with Acxiom, MGM-Mirage, Harrah’s/Caesars Entertainment, NAVTEQ, Experian, and Sprint among others.

 

In 2009, Sultan led the successful acquisition of Acuity Mobile by NAVTEQ, a Nokia (NOK) company. Following the acquisition, he served as the General Manager of Enterprise Mobile Marketing Solutions at Nokia.

 

Prior to Acuity, Sultan co-founded and served as the Senior Vice President Business Development and Corporate Director at KnowledgeMax, Inc., an MD based enterprise supply chain platform for knowledge resources, where he deployed the industry’s first automated drop shipping and enterprise level print-on-demand solution and directly secured and serviced major accounts like IBM, GM and others.   Sultan was actively involved in its acquisition by publicly traded Sideware Systems, Inc. and continued in the same role post acquisition.

Before KnowlegeMax, Sultan founded or was an executive at several media related companies.

Michael "Q" Perrett - Senior Technology Advisor & Founder

Perrett has over 30 years of experience as an executive and entrepreneur in the data transmission systems and aviation services industries.

 

Perrett founded and operates WWM, Ltd., which offers specialized aerial services to various commercial, consumer and military customers.  Recently Perrett designed, built, tested and delivered the Airborne Photo Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (AAPAS) a long-range aerial platform that was adopted by QinetiQ for British Ministry of Defense service. To date, it is the only, long-range, heavy lift, high altitude UAV system currently available to non-military customers in the UK.

 

Prior to WWM, Perrett was an engineering executive at Cable & Wireless, where he specialized in global data transmission via satellite and submarine cable systems. As C&W's Principal Engineer, Perrett was the companies’ expert on digital compression equipment, optical systems and network timing; his responsibilities included the operation of the companies' four atomic clocks as well as the commissioning of the first privately funded Trans-Atlantic submarine cable system PTAT-1.

 

Parrett’s engineering expertise is rooted in practicality and customer needs having spent his early years at ECI Telecom as the European Technical Account Manager specializing in sales of digital compression equipment throughout Europe before returning to Cable & Wireless as their Global Optical and Modeling Design Manager/Director.

Glenn V. Waters - Founder & UAS/Drone Advisor

Waters is a globally recognized innovator and technologist in the aviation and automotive sectors.

 

Internationally recognized as an expert on autonomous vehicles, Waters holds positions with Innovate UK as a

Program Assessor for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles as well as being a Member of the UK Aerospace & Defense National Technical Committee for Autonomous Systems.

 

Starting his career at Formula 1 back in the 1970's where he was the head Engineer for Mario Andretti, Waters has either founded or been an executive at some of the most premier Formula 1 ventures in history. He was the CEO/Owner for Racing Technology Norfolk/Tom's GB LTD – CEO/Owner for Intersport Racing LTD and Racing Engineer/Prototype Department Manager at Team Lotus International.

 

Over the last 20 years Waters has focused on aviation and autonomous vehicles extending his experience and best practices from FI to the drone marketplace. Most recently with McLaren (Aerospace Business Director), Cosworth Engineering Ltd. (Unmanned Aerial Systems - Program Director) as well as assembling 2 aircraft ‘s  -- a Berkut 360 and a Glasair III (both certified with the UK Civil Aviation Authority).

Gary Michel - droneCOMPLY FAA/Public Policy Advisor

Michel, a career government attorney, now serves as consulting counsel to DLA Piper LLP,  previously consulting counsel to Wiley Rein, LLP. and has more than 34 years’ experience at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), most recently serving as the Attorney-Manager for the Airworthiness, Advanced Aircraft and Unmanned Aircraft Law Branch in the Office of Chief Counsel, Regulations Division. He has been a key player in the FAA’s unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) rule-making efforts and was the leading FAA UAS regulations attorney.

Michel was FAA's attorney on the small UAS Aviation (sUAS) Rulemaking Committee and was the FAA attorney on the sUAS Rulemaking Team.  He has spoken about UAS matters on conference panels held by the Air & Space Law Section of the American Bar Association, New Orleans, 2012 , Airports Council International Spring Conference, New Orleans, 2015, Airlines For America, Washington, DC, 2015, and the International Air and Transportation Safety Bar Association, Washington, DC, 2016.   
 

Joel Gendelman Insurance Advisor & CEO, N2uitive Corporation

Chirag Pancholi Insurance & Banking Advisor

Pancholi is an experienced execution-focused growth CEO, strategy executive and former investment banker with Goldman Sachs.  A portfolio company leader with over 12 years of direct experience building and leading teams to bring new products to market, uncover new markets, and develop enterprise strategic capabilities. Proven ability to influence and reach profit growth metrics using data, operational excellence, and thought clarity.

He founded and grew the first independent automated cross-sell platform in the insurance industry used by well-known carriers and agencies. He has been a portfolio executive sponsored by well-known PE firms. Earlier in his career he worked under Chairman Greenspan with the Federal Reserve Board. He is a former engineer and has earned degrees from Harvard and University of Chicago.
